Understanding Progressive Dialer Mode

The Progressive Dialer mode in SIP Caller offers a simple and controlled calling experience for agents. Unlike Predictive or Power Dialer modes, this approach initiates the call with the agent first. Once the agent answers, SIP Caller automatically places the outbound call to the contact and connects both parties.

This ensures that agents are always ready and available before the customer is dialed.

How It Works

The Progressive Dialer follows this sequence:

  1. SIP Caller places a call to the assigned agent.
  2. When the agent answers, SIP Caller immediately initiates the outbound call to the contact.
  3. Once the customer answers, the agent and contact can talk to each other..

This mode guarantees that an agent is on the line before the customer is even called, which completely avoids dropped calls or queue wait times for the customer.

🎧 Progressive Dialer = Agent-first calling with full control and no surprises.

Key Benefits

  • ☎️ Agent always in control: The agent is live and prepared before the call reaches the customer.
  • 👌 Zero wait time for the customer: As soon as the contact picks up, the agent is already there.
  • ✅ No need for pacing logic: No predictions or transfer rates needed — calls are placed sequentially.

Use Cases

Progressive Dialer is ideal when:

  • Calls are sensitive or high-stakes, such as legal, financial, or healthcare communications.
  • Agents need time to prepare before speaking with the contact.
  • You want to avoid regulatory risks or ensure 100% live agent availability before dialing.

Technical Requirements

To use Progressive Dialer mode, you must install the SIP Caller Proxy on your PBX. This integration is required to receive real time information from the PBX about the status of the agents that will receive calls for a campaign.

When to Use Progressive Dialer

Use Progressive Dialer mode when your priority is:

  • Ensuring 100% agent readiness before customer contact
  • Avoiding any risk of customer wait time or dropped calls
  • Giving agents time to review contact data before a live interaction

If you need to reach a large number of people quickly, or you're running automated interactions, consider Power Dialer. For predictive logic and agent optimization, go with Predictive Dialer.
